YVONNE HALTON

YVONNE HALTON, after training as a teacher and working as an art/clay therapist for several years in the hospital and prison services, developed her own workshop which is now located in Bristol.

She produces a range of high-fired thrown earthenware pottery and sculptural, slabbed stoneware forms which are brightly coloured with slips.

Her mirrors are made of stoneware clay and stained with oxides which enhance the decorative effect of the textured surfaces.
 

The blue stoneware pieces are handbuilt using crank clay.They are decorated with blue slip and cobalt oxide is washed onto the edges to create a blue stone texture.
