Robin Wade

ROBIN WADE, MSDC, has had a career both in art education and in ceramic design. For the past twenty years she has also produced a wide range of individually-crafted decorative pieces for the home.

She makes tiles, mirrorframes, wall panels, dishes, plaques and vases of stoneware and porcelain clays. She is happy to accept commissions for architectural features, sinks, tiles, etc.
Robin is inspired by her interest in Persian ceramic tiles, the richness of fabrics and the beauty of the patterns found in the landscape and in plants. Indeed, she uses textiles directly to impress patterns in the soft slabs of clay with which she constructs some of her forms.

The work is handbuilt and modelled and then painted in a range of rich subtle colours.
