DAVID THORNLEY studied at Stourbridge College of Art (BA Glass with Ceramics) and Bristol University (Cert. Ed.). He established 'Pottery behind the Rainbow' in Clifton Village, Bristol, making and selling a wide range of pots for the table and for plants, which were also sold at flower shows around the country.

He has also taught at Bristol Folk House Adult Education Centre. David has exhibited his work at Liberties, London, Brierly Hill Glass Museum and locally at the RWA, Bristol Guild and Happening Gallery.

He makes thrown ware and 'one-off pieces' in his workshop in Clifton.
